Borko Stefanovic, the Freedom and Justice Party deputy leader who is heading a delegation of the Serbia Against Violence coalition in meetings in Brussels, said in the evening on Feb. 26 that their collocutors had provided their understanding and support to “all the findings of drastic manipulations and abuse by the regime of the will of the people” expressed in the latest local elections in Belgrade.

“There exist full understanding and support for all the findings of drastic manipulations and abuse by the regime of the will of the people expressed in the December elections, and also the backing to next steps toward monitoring and recommendations after the expected reports of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR),” Stefanovic said.

Free Citizens Movement leader Pavle Grbovic has said that the opposition delegation have talked with EU Special Representative for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, noting it was an excellent meeting, adding that the opposition representatives have also talked with officials of EU institutions. “Owing to its unity and results, the opposition has become an active stakeholder in the Serbia-EU relations,” Grbovic has written on his X account.

In Brussels on Feb. 26, the opposition delegation, also comprising Radomir Lazovic of the Green-Left Front and Dusko Lopandic of the Serbia Center (SRCE), had meetings also with representatives of EU executive institutions and the European External Action Service. After Brussels, the delegation is heading to Paris, where it is scheduled to meet with representatives of EU executive bodies.
