In the evening on Aug. 26, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the lists, based on which Croatian pop singer Severina Vuckovic had been questioned at the Serbian border, would be scrapped most likely in the next couple of days.

“Those are the lists from the past, some have made such lists containing dozens of names. I believe that such lists will be removed in the next two or three days,” Vucic told TV Pink.

Earlier, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic confirmed that border police officers had questioned Severina based on the lists of individuals who had been guilty of “speech crime,” saying that in the future, such lists would refer only to individuals who had committed criminal offense and were considered to pose a security threat.

Vucic said that holding and questioning Severina at the Serbian border “was stupid and absolutely unnecessary,” but not because of her, but because Serbia had to be “much different” from Croatia in every aspect.

“God forbid I lead a state which arrests anyone singing a song of (Croatian extreme nationalist singer Marko Perkovic) Thompson. God protect me from the country (Croatia) which arrests anyone who likes Baja Mali Knindza (Serb singer known for his extreme nationalist songs). Something is wrong with them and I do not want us to be like them. Their hatred of Serbia only speaks of themselves,” Vucic sasid.

This was a reference to lawyer Nemanja Beric whom Croatia has recently sentenced to a 15-day jail term for signing a song of Baja Mali Knindza in his car.
