Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin is scheduled to travel to Kazan to take part in this week's BRICS Summit, to which Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic was invited, Yuri Ushakov, aide to the Russian president, announced on Oct. 21.

According to a report in RIA novosti, Ushakov said that Vulin would represent Serbia, noting that Vucic and Russian President Vladimir Putin had spoken on the phone on Oct. 20 and agreed that Vulin, who is directly involved in bilateral relations and matters related to BRICS, should come.

The Russian president's aide explained that Vucic had pre-existing international engagements that would be difficult to decline at the time of the summit in Kazan, which is taking place from Oct. 22 to 24.

The Serbian president's office issued a press release earlier on Oct. 21 saying that Vucic would begin a working visit to Slovakia on Oct. 22 and take part in a trilateral summit being held inK omarno.
