Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric said after the conclusion of a session of the U.N. Security Council on Kosovo late on April 8 that the truth was heard before that international body, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The U.N. Security Council discussed in New York U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres's new six-month report on the work of the U.N. Mission in Kosovo. "The truth was heard perhaps louder than ever before even from the representatives of states that have recognized the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo. And that is not the only reason I think Pristina doesn't have much to be happy about after this session," Djuric said.
According to him, awareness is growing within the international community that what happened in Kosovo is a dangerous precedent. "This Security Council where we sat in session for the last three hours is suffering the consequences of the dangerous precedent set by the unilateral declaration of independence every day in various regions of the world," Djuric said, adding that attacks on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic could also be heard.
"And it is now obvious that [Vucic] personally and his agenda are thorns in the side of the Albin Kurti regime," Djuric said, adding that he advocated Serbia's interests and that the truth about the difficult position of Serbs and threats to collective human rights was heard at the session.
