Serbian Police Car (BETAPHOTO/MILAN OBRADOVIC/MO)
Across Serbia, a total of 44 people were arrested and more than 430 had their ID cards requested and checked by police due to participation in the spate of roadblocks erected in protest to the police intervention at the largescale June 28 rally in Belgrade, organized by the country’s university students.
According to Assistant Police Chief Zeljko Brkic, misdemeanor charges have been filed against 38 individuals, while six will be charged criminally.
Brkic went on to say that most roadblocks were cleared by the evening of June 30, and that all roads in Belgrade and other Serbian cities are open to traffic.
