State-controlled telecommunications operator Telekom Srbija has reached an agreement on the acquisition of an 80 percent stake in local media company Mondo INC, thus also becoming the owner of company Firefly Productions, as well as the “most modern” film studio complex in this part of Europe, Telekom Srbija said in an announcement on Jan. 13.
With this arrangement, Telekom Srbija continues its expansion to new business models, “adding the largest digital media ecosystem in Serbia to its media portfolio, which will enrich the offer to users and additionally strengthen capacities in the field of digital services and advertising, as well as production and studio capacities,” it is said in the release.
The integration of Telekom Srbija and Mondo INC, according to the announcement, will improve the company’s infotainment offer and bring more value to end users through content, and will also provide a better offer to companies and advertisers through more modern formats, greater reach and advanced digital tools. The acquisition of Firefly Production and film studios represents a strong step forward in further expanding capacities for content production, Telekom Srbija said in the release.
