The opposition civic initiative ProGlas (ProVote) announced on May 18 the launch of the campaign “Without You, There Is No Us”, under which it will organize a series of debates and meetings with Serbian expatriates in several European cities.
ProGlas said the campaign, organized in cooperation with the ex-pat platform “Assembly in the Diaspora”, aims to ensure that “expatriates actively return to debates and actions concerning Serbia’s future — not symbolically, but genuinely, loudly and visibly”. The first gathering will be held on June 7 in Frankfurt, in cooperation with the organization “Frankfurt for Youth”, while subsequent meetings are planned, among other places, in Munich, Zurich and Geneva.
Actors Dragan Bjelogrlic, Zoran Kesic and Tamara Dragicevic, Professor Miodrag Jovanovic and a police officer from Valjevo, Katarina Petrovic, who was suspended after acting as a whistleblower, will speak with the ex-pat community in Frankfurt.
“This is not merely a series of meetings. It is a call — a call for people living outside Serbia to stop being observers and become participants again. To connect, exchange experiences, recognize one another and together build a lasting network that will remain long after each meeting,” ProGlas explained. The initiative underlined that all participants are involved on a voluntary basis and that the campaign is non-profit in nature, with funds being collected exclusively for event organization, production and logistics.
