The organization Da se zna! (For the Record!) has announced that it will organize protests in six cities this summer as part of its Pride Caravan campaign, targeting communities where transphobia and homophobia are frequent.

“Life for LGBT+ people in these cities is often much more difficult than in Belgrade or Novi Sad, and many are forced to conceal their identities,” the organization said in a statement. The Pride Caravan will precede Belgrade Pride, which will be held in September under the slogan “There Is Room for All of Us.”

“The slogan of this year’s Pride is the same as the slogan used by the first Pride in Belgrade in 2001, exactly 25 years ago. With this slogan, we want to make clear that only a society in which there is room for LGBT+ people, people with disabilities, people of other faiths and nationalities, and every minority group, can be a society of democracy, progress and freedom,” the For the Record! said.

The first rallies are planned for July 18, in Vranje and Pirot, while in the coming weeks LGBT+ activists will also gather in Zajecar, Kraljevo, Sabac and Loznica.
