The Serbian Chamber of Commerce announced on Feb. 19 that it had launched an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Library - a publicly available and practical database of reports on sustainable business which allows companies, investors and financial institutions speedy access to information, examples and models for making reports.
The new platform gathers in one place the know-how, experience and practices of companies devoted to transparency, responsibility and long-term sustainability thereby becoming a concrete tool for learning, enhancing practices and bringing grounded business decisions, the Chamber said.
"The process of collecting company reports is in progress, while the ESG library is envisaged as a knowledge database and room for exchanging examples of good practices. We want to help companies make their first steps in composing reports and show that transparency strengthens the trust of investors, financial institutions and the public," Dusan Stokic, head of the Center for Environment, Technical Regulations, Quality and Social Responsibility at the Chamber of Commerce, said.
The open library, the Chamber said, merges voluntary ESG and Corporate Social Responsibility reports, progress reports, as well as mandatory nonfinancial reports and offers a clear insight into how companies manage their impact on the environment, relations with employees and local communities, as well as how they conduct good corporate management and fight corruption.
