A Game of Push and Pull

One of the dominant themes that was discussed by the domestic public last week was Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invitation to his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic to participate in the upcoming BRICS summit. The importance of the issue was highlighted by Putin himself, who told Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin at a meeting in Vladivostok that Russia was “waiting for” Vucic to attend the events that will be part of the summit. Vucic has opted not to reveal his true feelings about the invitation, saying only that he will decide on whether or not to participate in the summit in mid-October, some 10 days before it begins.
