The protest rallies that took place in Novi Sad and Belgrade in the last 10 days or so have confirmed that the opposition has neither an adequate strategy for fighting the regime led by Aleksandar Vucic nor a clear idea regarding its own next moves. The protests held over the collapse of an outdoor overhang at the Novi Sad railway station have revealed a lack of unity among opposition parties and the existence of a gap between them and opposition activists, with no coordination of activities. On the other hand, the Vucic regime has managed – albeit with the help of the opposition public – to put the focus on the opposition’s activities instead of on accountability for the death of 14 and severe injuries of three people.
