Resolving Relations Will Be neither Easy nor Quick

Officials of the EU and of the member states’ governments believe that the readiness of U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration to lend a hand and align with the EU, i.e. not impose its positions in the efforts toward normalizing relations between Belgrade and Pristina, will considerably help EU mediator Miroslav Lajcak. However, they also think the Belgrade–Pristina dialogue will continue to be fraught with big problems and is unlikely to wrap up by the end of the year as Lajcak expects.
