April elections for the Belgrade Assembly, held alongside presidential and parliamentary polls, are the central question of post-electoral dynamics in Serbia. The preliminary results show that the ruling parties won by a narrow margin, which opened the question of whether new elections for the city assembly will be held before the end of the year. Although the request for new elections came from the head of the leading opposition coalition, Dragan Djilas, it seems that the ruling party, Aleksandar Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party, will have the most to gain from a new vote.
