First Coronavirus Case in Serbia Confirmed

Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar said on March 6 that the first case of the novel coronavirus in Serbia has been reported.

In an extraordinary press conference held on this occasion, the minister told the journalists that the infection was found in a 43 year old male patient from Subotica who had gone to the hospital because he felt unwell.

Loncar said that the man, who had traveled to Hungary, is now feeling well and that he is staying at the hospital in Subotica. The minister added that there is no room for panic and advised the citizens to adhere to basic preventive measures.
