According to a member of the Serbian government's Covid-19 Crisis Headquarters, Dr Srdja Jankovic, Serbian bars and restaurants will not be ordered to shut down completely for now, but it will happen if they fail to take safety precautions to protect their guests from the coronavirus.
"If the hospitality venues can't implement the necessary considerations, more precisely, take the prescribed precautions within opening hours, it might be necessary to endorse tighter restrictions. At this point, it is much more important to take the precautions," Serbia's leading immunologist, Dr. Jankovic, said in a Feb. 17 interview with the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation (RTS).
According to the doctor, medical experts at the government's Covid-19 response team recommended at the beginning of the ski season that "30 percent of ski area capacity be used," but it will be clear in a few days if the recommendation has been met.
