The Crisis Headquarters on March 16 confirmed that the Covid-19 countermeasures that were imposed last weekend would be in effect from March 17 to 22. This means that catering venues and shopping malls will be closed, while grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations will continue to work.
“Starting 8 pm, that is 9 pm on March 16, all catering venues (cafes, restaurants, bars), shopping malls, all shops except for groceries, movie theaters, galleries, museums, beauty salons, hairdressers, bookies, gambling venues, children game rooms, gyms, fitness centers, swimming pools, and balloon halls will be closed. The measures imposed last weekend will be in effect over the next week,” it is said in an announcement.
The Crisis Headquarters further said that the measures did not apply to businesses, factories and their in-house work organization and business activities, adding that all public administration services, postal offices, banks, insurance companies, exchange offices… will work during their regular working hours.
The government said that relevant inspections and communal police officers would be rigorously controlling the implementation of the countermeasures and appealed to personal responsibility of all citizens.
