58 people died from the consequences of the coronavirus infection in Serbia in the past 24 hours and there were 7,745 newly infected, it was announced on the covid19.rs web-site on Oct. 20.

There are 6,708 covid patients currently being treated in hospitals, 273 of them on ventilators.

24,984 people were tested in the past 24 hours. 9,272 people have died from the disease according to official data.

Epidemiologist Zoran Radovanovic assessed on Oct. 20 that the authorities in Serbia were "extremely late" with the introduction of covid passes. Radovanovic told BETA that "United Against Covid" proposed that measure, as well as a series of other measures for suppressing the epidemic, a long time ago, but that the authorities rejected them. In his words, instead of considering the proposal of "United Against Covid", the authorities cared about their ratings and took advice from marketing agencies.

He said that, in the meantime, Serbia joined the group of leading countries in the world according to the number of dead and newly infected with the coronavirus.
