An expert commission created by the Belgrade School of Philology will examine whether aide to the prime minister and former Official Gazette director Jelena Trivan plagiarized her PhD dissertation, the Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia (CINS) learned on April 20, saying that Trivan's PhD dissertation was titled, "Libraries and Multiculturalism."
Ten years later, a four member expert commission will investigate whether the work is original. According to the information that the Center has collected the procedure was launched based on demands for examining her academic conduct which was signed by a group of University professors.
The commission consists of four members - two from the School of Philology and one each from the Belgrade University and National High Education Council. Trivan told CINS that she had not been aware that the procedure had been launched, nor would it draw any kind of reaction from her.
"This is the favorite tool for politically dealing with someone which destroys the Belgrade University while private colleges protect their interests. Neither do I perform an academic job, nor do my job and results depend on my title hence I am mistakenly chosen target and have no intention of commenting on this anymore," Trivan said.
