Following President Aleksandar Vucic’s talks with parties that have won seats in parliament, the most likely candidate for Serbia’s new prime minister is Serbian Progressive Party leader Milos Vucevic, while incumbent Prime Minister Ana Brnabic might continue her career as either ambassador to the U.S. or mayor of Belgrade, the Vecernje Novosti daily reported on March 6.

Citing unofficial sources, the pro-regime paper also claimed that current Ambassador to the U.S. Marko Djuric, who is set to return to the country following the end of his mandate, is a contender for the position of minister of foreign affairs.

Sinisa Mali will retain his post as minister of finance, while outgoing Parliament Speaker Vladimir Orlic is being considered for minister of defense, the daily stated, adding that Orlic will most probably be replaced by Nikola Selakovic, who has so far served as minister for labor, employment, veteran and social policy.
