EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on May 5, regarding "another mass shooting in Serbia with innocent people killed," that the EU was with Serbia in these difficult moments.

"This is a shocking, terrible tragedy - we feel the pain and stand with the people of Serbia in these difficult moments," Borrell tweeted.

The end of the message in English reads "EU je uz Srbiju" in Serbian, which means "The EU stands with Serbia," as does a condolence message from Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret following another mass shooting in Serbia.

May 5, 6 and 7 are national days of mourning in Serbia after the tragedy at the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School in Belgrade, where a 13-year-old student killed eight fellow students and a security guard and wounded six students and a teacher on May 3.
