Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin met with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu in Moscow on Sept. 9.

The Serbian government said in a press release that the two officials dicussed "a broad range of topics of mutual interest" to Serbia and Russia.

Vulin told Shoigu that the situation in Kosovo was "on the verge of conflict" and that Pristina's policy was one of "ethnic cleansing of the southern Serbian province of Serbs," the press release read.

Vulin thanked Shoigu for the invitation to take part in an upcoming conference organized by the Russian Security Council in Saint Petersburg for the senior security representatives of BRICS and partner countries.

Shoigu was Russia's defense minister and is on an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for war crimes in Ukraine committed between Oct. 10, 2022 and March 9, 2023.
