Relations between Serbia and Hungary have achieved a historic success, Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic said on Oct. 28, on occasion of Hungarian President Tamas Sulyok commencing his visit to Belgrade.

Speaking for Pink TV, Vucevic explained that dealings with the country’s northern neighbor had long been “impaired and tense,” but that the situation has now changed.

According to him, Serbia needs to focus next on improving relations with the United States.

“That is in our national interest. If we don’t do that, we leave room for Albanian lobbyists to say all the worst about us. It’s always better to sit at the table where decisions about us are being made, rather than absent,” the prime minister concluded.
