In a Dec. 16 interview for the RTS public broadcaster, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic stated he expects answers from Russian services regarding the death of Radomir Kurtic, the Moscow representative of Serbia’s state-owned weapons manufacturer Yugoimport-SDPR.

According to Belgrade media, Kurtic was found dead in Moscow on Nov. 17 yet the Russian authorities have still not provided Serbia with the forensic reports on his death.

In the RTS interview, Vucic said that while he has more information on the case than has been made public, forming an opinion requires more and he refuses to engage in guessing.

“We are expecting an answer from Russian services. Official calls and petitions and requests have been sent. We know that certain hard drives have gone missing, as have a few other things, but that doesn’t necessarily have to be tied to the event itself,” Vucic explained.

Kurtic was serving his second term as Yugoimport’s representative in Moscow, the president said and added he will fight to expose the truth about Kurtic, “an exemplary citizen and man who spent many years working for a good Serbian company.”

Yugoimport-SDPR deals in producing and trading munitions and defense equipment as well as in technology transfer. It is one of the region’s largest defense contractors.
