Dragan Djilas (BETAPHOTO/MILOS MISKOV)
Freedom and Justice Party leader Dragan Djilas said on Jan. 2 that Serbia is regressing in every aspect and has, over the past few years, been surpassed by neighboring countries which used to be less developed.
In the Usual Suspect podcast, Djilas called President Aleksandar Vucic’s statement that “Serbia isn’t progressing toward the EU so it cannot regress either, as EU officials are claiming” – nonsense and untrue.
“If Serbia is not progressing, it logically has to be standing still or regressing. Unfortunately, it’s regressing and that is why Montenegro, Albania and Moldavia have surpassed us… There isn’t an area in which we’ve truly progressed. Those are all lies,” said Djilas.
In his opinion, the regime has, over the years, made numerous bad decisions, such as selling 17,000 ha of agricultural land to Arabs for EUR107 million, only to later buy back 340 ha for EUR170 million.
