The first session of Serbia's new organization, Assembly of Free Serbia, is expected to take place late in September, following the establishment of expert bodies whose representatives will run the Assembly, a member of the organizing committee, Savo Manojlovic, said on Aug. 10.
Manojlovic said at a press conference that the Assembly had already set up an agriculture council chaired by a farmer, Dragan Kleut, and that a healthcare council headed by Dr Rane Panic would be in place soon.
"The plan is to create a body where different voices and opinions can be heard, where various social and political groups can express themselves," Manojlovic said, explaining that the first session was planned to take place in September, but that it also depended on the status of the coronavirus outbreak in Serbia.
Dragan Kleut said that his agriculture council would offer a solution for the situation on the market, namely, "realistic stock-exchange prices, like in Budapest, Paris and in other stock exchanges where the prices of Serbian products were not reduced."
During a press conference outside the Faculty of Philosophy, the Assembly's activists were carrying banners with the "51.1%" figure on, representing the number of citizens who had decided to boycott Serbia's last parliamentary election and "don't have a voice in the parliament."
