Serbian Movement Dveri leader Bosko Obradovic has said that it is highly unacceptable that the exact date of a snap general election and the election threshold are not yet known, and called on the authorities to make a decision on that and announce it.
The authorities announced an early general election after having realized that the boycott of last year's election had been a success and after having seen what a parliament without opposition looked like, a press release from the movement quoted Obradovic as saying.
The regime is avoiding an answer to another important question from Dveri which is very important for preparations for the next election, besides the condition that the election be free and fair, and that is how high the election threshold will be, Obradovic said in Kragujevac late on June 17.
In his words, the election threshold is not something that can be changed ahead of an election, like last year, but rather has to be known much earlier.
"I call on representatives of the authorities to state when the snap general election will be: before the presidential and Belgrade elections, which would be best for the Serbian democracy, at the same time as the presidential and Belgrade ones next spring, or maybe they are planning for that election not to take place and thus, for the umpteenth time, cheat the public," said Obradovic.
