Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that the next meeting on Kosovo, as a continuation of the talks in Berlin, that is in Paris where Belgrade and Pristina representatives were scheduled to meet, should be held in September.
“It takes time for certain issues to be readdressed. I hate to shift the blame onto the other side and speak about (100 percent) tariffs (on the goods coming from Serbia) and other things. Let us wait for major powers to do their part and then we will present our plan,” Vucic said after meeting students together with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
Asked about Macron's support to Serbia, Vucic replied that the French president understood the weight of the issue, adding that problems could not be resolved if no one would budge an inch.
“I asked for understanding that the issue cannot be resolved to the satisfaction of all, but that a settlement should be sought somewhere in between,” Vucic noted.
He stressed that a compromise was not a weakness, but strength, and that he would advocate a compromise which would not mean the capitulation or giving up, but a true compromise.
“If possible, we will pursue that direction, if not – some future generations will have to do it,” Vucic said, noting that it was not possible to live in fear of the looming conflicts.
