The Agency for Prevention of Corruption should address the Greek Government and request a list of the Serbian officials who had bought houses and luxury apartments in the Athens area since 2012, Freedom and Justice Party vice president Marinika Tepic said on June 17.
The assets of public officials from the ruling parties were more available on social media than in the Register of Declarations of Assets and Finances of public officials, which fell within the remit of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption, Tepic wrote in a statement.
Tepic demands from the Agency to contact the Athens authorities, cadasters and relevant bodies and request a list of the public officials and associated persons who have purchased houses and luxury apartments in the Athens area, particularly in the seaside neighborhood of Vouliagmeni.
“This is extremely important, particularly considering that these properties have not been reported to the Serbian Agency for Prevention of Corruption, although the buyers are legally obliged to do so. It is interesting that by purchasing a real estate in Greece worth between EUR250,000 and 500,0000 depending on the location, foreigners qualify for the so-called ‘golden visa” and can obtain a permanent residence in Greece,” Tepic said.
