Serbian Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic stated on Aug. 1 that the opposition did not want the dialogue about lithium mining and that this represented her daily political struggle, while the authorities, as she said, speak about this issue using facts.

Brnabic told TV Prva that, in lithium mining, Germany and Finland, which is launching an open-pit mine, had caught up with and surpassed Serbia in projects that are far more dangerous.

She said that she believed lithium mining could be safe and that the opposition was pushing forward lies and completely ungrounded claims.

Brnabic accused the opposition of making Serbia into a periphery of Europe and of the world.
