Representatives of the opposition parties in Novi Sad gathered on Dec. 10 to lay flowers and light candles at the place where an outdoor concrete canopy at the local Railway Station collapsed on Nov. 1, killing 15 and severely injuring another two people.
There, they stood for 15 minutes marking 40 days of the tragedy and also Human Rights Day, observed annually on Dec. 10. .Opposition representatives Borislav Novakovic, Miran Pogacar, Janko Veselinovic, Maja Mrnustik, Mladen Cvijetic, and others paid tribute to the victims, but did not speak to reporters.
Students in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and of the Faculty of Economy in Subotica also paid tribute to the Novi Sad victims, by gathering outside their respective faculties and blocking some streets in their cities.
Students have been blocking classes at more than 30 state faculties of four universities, demanding from the authorities to make public complete documentation on the Novi Sad Railway Station renovation works.
