Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on Jan. 21 that he had “a very good conversation about current topics in relations between Serbia and the EU” with European Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos.

“We focused on the reform obligations, strengthening the rule of law and institutions, advancing the investment environment, better infrastructure connections and energy security and transition. We also discussed how to accelerate economic convergence and create additional developmental possibilities for the economy and young people, through European instruments and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans,” Vucic wrote in a post on Instagram.

He said he also pointed out that “in times of growing division, it is important for Serbia to preserve the spirit of dialogue in the region and Europe, because that is the only sustainable path to solving open issues, preserving peace and creating conditions for long-term progress.”
