Vucic Seeking Support

Serbia’s ruling bloc continues a propaganda offensive of sorts on the domestic political scene, aimed at relativizing the potential negative political consequences of the meeting held in Washington last week, where Belgrade took a step away from Moscow and Beijing and moved a step closer to the West. The main goal of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is to show his supporter that the papers signed in Washington are the best possible solution for Serbia, which changes almost nothing in the relationship with Russia and China. That is a clear attempt at “damage control,” where Vucic believes that Brussels and Washington will show understanding for his efforts.
