The special representative of the U.N. Secretary General and UNMIK chief, Caroline Ziadeh, stated on Dec. 29 that she welcomed the removal of roadblocks and all steps towards a de-escalation in the north of Kosovo, the U.N. mission has stated.
The statement quoted Ziadeh as saying that she recognized "the painstaking efforts" of all parties, including international partners, to ensure "the safety of the people of Kosovo across all communities." "Ziadeh stresses the importance of upholding commitments and resuming talks to fully address outstanding issues and normalize relations without delay," the statement reads.
The statement further reads that Ziadeh expressed "appreciation for the steadfast resolve of international partners to foster dialogue in their pursuit of security and stability."
